Mae West, D.A.C.B.R.

This is a play off of the famous quote from American actress and playwright, Mae West:  “Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?”  (She Done Him Wrong — 1933).
In this cartoon, Vert visits the local Exotic Dancing Club, where Mae West, DACBR [chiropractic radiologist*], says in her sultry voice, “Hey Bone Boy.  Is that an osteophyte [bony spur or protrusion seen on x-ray] in your pocket?…. or are you just happy to see me?!”  Of course, Vert is speechless, and decides to just wave.

*DACBR.  These are the letters seen after the name of a chiropractor who has specialized training as a radiologist.  They stand for Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology.
