Introduction

I was a bit hesitant to put this book together.  It was something I really wanted to do, but I was, more or less, frightened of the visions of boxes filled with unwanted Vert books cluttering up my garage.  When I initially decided to go ahead and make the financial plunge — hoping to just break even [and still hoping, I might add], I thought I’d just slap together all the Vert cartoons I had created and call it a book.  Then I thought that writing a little introduction would be appropriate, but what I ended up with was more like a book in itself.  Here is all the information and history that you will ever want to know about he personified spine, as well as myself.  Read it if you like, or if you prefer, go right for the gags.  Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy it half as much as I have putting it all together.
