This cartoon is in reference to all those adult “976” phone numbers out there.  If Vert were to call one of these numbers, it would definitely be “976-BONE” [the word “bone” having an innuendo in itself].  The sensual voice on the line moans, “ooooh Yaa!!  I love it when you take me to end range!”  “End Range” is a term that we chiropractors use to describe the position of a joint when it is at the end of its physiological range of motion.
