Funny Bone
This one is a cheap pun at best… but its not bad considering that this is The Old Bone’s “return cartoon” after a 13 year hiatus. Vert is performing some stand-up comedy at the ever-popular D.C. [Doctor of Chiropractic] hang-out: the “Chiro Comedy Club.” The bit of his joke that we have a chance to listen in on — “…But seriously folks — you chiropractors really crack me up!” — is an obvious play on the chiropractic adjustment. Besides the obvious, “Funny Bone” plays off of the sometimes used reference to a comedian as a “Funny Man” (or “Funny Lady”).
